How to get to Lieteberg?
To Lieteberg by car
GPS-address: Stalkerweg - Zutendaal
Take the E314, exit 32, to Zutendaal centre.
At the roundabout in the centre go straight on, after 300 m keep right in the direction of Gellik along the Stalkerweg. After 300 m turn right at the roundabout into the car park. The car park is free of charge. From the car park, follow the signs to the Lieteberg reception (200 m).
Is the free visitor parking at Stalkerweg 46 full? No worries! Then follow the orange arrows 'Lieteberg RP'. This will take you to our free reserve car park. From the reserve car park it is a 15-minute walk to Lieteberg: see dotted arrows on the map below. Pass the sports hall (Blookbergstraat) towards the car park on Stalkerweg and from there follow the signposted footpath to the Visitor centre.

Cycling race Zutendaal on Saturday, April 4, 2025
Please prepare your visit to Lieteberg for Saturday 4 April! For the safety of the riders of the cycling race, our visitor car park on Saturday 4 April will only be accessible via fixed arrival and departure routes that follow the direction of the course (red). Disruption will be limited.

Arriving visitors follow the blue route from Zutendaal-centre via the intersection 15-Augustusstraat-Stalkerweg. You can enter the Stalkerweg via the roundabout at Princess Keukens. Tip: set your GPS to that intersection.
Departing visitors follow the green route to leave the car park. Tip: when leaving, set your GPS to the Gijzenveldstraat-Trichterweg intersection. That way you will always drive correctly. From there, you can choose your home destination and leave smoothly.
There are signalmen at every intersection along the route. They can always guide you in the right direction. Follow their instructions.

At the cemetery car park on Blookbergstraat, near the Lieteberg reserve car park, you will find a public charging station from Engie with 2 22 kW type 2 charging points. Check availability here.
To Lieteberg by public transport
From Genk station you can take bus 45 in the direction of Maastricht or the "G7" (buses from Genk). Additional possibility: bus 10 (Genk-Zutendaal-Bilzen-Tongeren) Get off in Zutendaal centre, at the church. Get off to the roundabout and turn right (Daalstraat), then go from the Vijverplein (left) to the Schoolstraat and Blookbergstraat until you reach Lieteberg. (+/- 15 min. walk)
Check the website of transport company 'De Lijn' for the correct travel times of the bus.

Accessibility for the disabled

Lieteberg does its very best to be easily accessible and accessible for the disabled. We have been recognized for this for quite some time with an A-label of Tourism Flanders. For disabled visitors we offer the possibility to park in front of the visitor building on the parking lot provided for that purpose. This car park can be reached through Zuurbroekstraat 16 after registration at the barrier, the disabled card is visible on the dashboard of your car.
Our visitor centre is fully wheelchair accessible, including the Butterfly Garden and Bistro Lieteberg. We also have a disabled toilet. Unfortunately, the Barefoot Path is not accessible to wheelchair users. This is not possible due to the nature of the trail. However, with individual assistance, the Barefoot Path is accessible to blind or visually impaired visitors. Only assistance dogs are allowed on the Barefoot Path.
